Ettampitiya Ambalama is an ancient wayside rest in the hilly town of Ettampitiya 15 kilometers away from Badulla and 17 km away from Bandarawela. The ambalama sits on the Welimada-Badulla road on the junction at the turn off to the Ketawala road.
The Ettampitiya Ambalama is an small brick and mortar building tiled with semi cylindrical clay tiles (sinhala ulu). Three sides of the building is fully covered and the front by a half wall. Whether these features were in the original building or if they have been added in later renovations are unknown. Today this Ambalama is used as a bus shelter.
