Ihala Kadigamuwa Sri Pushparama Purana Viharaya lies between Bowatta (between Bingiriya – Panduwasnuwara) and Kuliyapitiya. Traveling from Kuliyapitiya, you need to travel 13.7km towards Bowatta or if you are traveling from Bowatta, you need to travel 4km to reach the turnoff to the temple road amidst the coconut groves. From here, its just 200 meters to the temple.

Tampita Vihara was a popular architectural feature during the Kandyan kingdom where the temple was built on a platform which was held on an array of pillars, mostly stone.

The Ihala Kadigamuwa Tampita viharaya lies on 10 rock pillars 2.2 meters tall. No circumambulating path is found at this structure. The viharaya is 6.32 meters long and 2.94 meters wide.
