Sannasi Ella Waterfall is located in the village of Wewalwatta in Ratnapura district. It is one of the few unique waterfalls in Sri Lanka where water falls over a protruding rock creating a natural cave behind the fall. Some of other such waterfalls are Knuckles Doowili Ella, Sera Ella and Pareiyan Ella.

Sannasi Ella is created by the waters of Pandi Oya, which is a tributary of Bambarakotuwa Ganga river which falls in to the Kalu Ganga river.

The waterfall lies in middle of a forested area and a you need to walk passing tea estates, line rooms, jungle patches and along the river to reach this site. Due to the difficulty in accessing this waterfall, very few visit this falls and the surrounding area is still clean.

Since the waterfall lies far away from any main road, its best to get a villager as a guide to find the route this waterfall.
