Putupagala Ambalama – පුටුපාගල අම්බලම
Putupagala Ambalama lies in the village of Putupagala in the Gampaha District. This ambalama is believed to be built by king Weeraparakrama (1477 – 1489) of Kotte kingdom. It is believed that this ambalama would have served as a resting place for pilgrims who travelled from Kotte to the Dekatana Rajamaha Viharaya.
The ambalama is decorated using finely polished granite blocks and it was reported that some of the blocks had been stolen.
